Nearly 8 months after a tragic incident took a citizen's life in Wellington, a young adult is now being held accountable. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office revealed this week that a teenager is now charged with DUI manslaughter stemming from a car accident that occurred back in March.

The suspect, 19-year-old Gabriel Glushien from Wellington, was 18 when he was involved in the fatal car accident on March 9th at the junction of Greenview Shores Boulevard and Wellington Trace.

Reports indicate that Glushien was behind the wheel of a 2012 BMW M5, speeding northward as he neared the Courtyard Shops at Wellington's entrance. At the same time, Aristides Guerra was driving his 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee south, preparing to turn left into Courtyard Shops.

In a devastating turn of events, as Guerra executed the left turn, his Jeep was hit with great force on the passenger side by Glushien's BMW. The impact was so severe that it overturned Guerra’s vehicle, which shortly after erupted into flames. Sadly, Guerra was trapped within the flaming wreckage, resulting in his untimely death.

November 6, 2023: Boca Raton Teenager in Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Tragedy struck on a Boca Raton roadway late Sunday night when an 18-year-old local teenager lost her life in a motorcycle accident. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office determined that it was Ramona Benedetic operating a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle when the accident occurred near the intersection of Yamato and Lyons Road around 11:30 PM.

According to the deputies’ report, Benedetic was heading west on Yamato Road beyond Lyons Road. She was traveling at a considerable speed. Due to unclear conditions, her motorcycle veered off the road, colliding with the median before hitting a tree.

The force of the crash threw Benedetic off the motorcycle, where she was found roughly 10 feet from the crash. Despite the quick response from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, she was declared deceased at the accident site.

November 5, 2023: Multi-vehicle Accident in Loxahatchee

In a significant car accident early Sunday in the Loxahatchee area of Palm Beach, emergency responders transported seven individuals to local hospitals. Three individuals required airlift by Trauma Hawks. The three vehicle crash led to hospitals being notified to prepare for an influx of patients, confirmed by authorities.

The accident occurred near Arden Lake Way and State Road 80. At the scene, a 2017 Toyota RAV4 and a 2022 Tesla were poised to turn eastward at the intersection.

According to officials, a 2020 Chevy 1500 ran a red light while heading west on Southern Boulevard. The Chevy collided with both the Toyota and Tesla.

A passenger in the Tesla, a woman from Loxahatchee, was forcefully thrown from the vehicle and became trapped under its tire. The drivers of the Chevy and the Toyota, along with the ejected Tesla passenger, were dispatched to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach. Thankfully, the injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The Tesla driver, along with three passengers from the same family, were taken to HCA Palms West Hospital by ground ambulance, also with non-life-threatening injuries.

November 5, 2023: 3 Car Accident in Hollywood

An accident happened in Hollywood on Sunday afternoon involving multiple vehicles.

The accident unfolded on Sheridan Street near 69th Avenue, leaving at least three cars extensively damaged. Authorities confirmed that several individuals were transported to a local hospital following the incident. Specific details regarding their conditions or the total number injured are not available.

Local 10 News gathered accounts from witnesses. One witness reports seeing a driver pinned within their vehicle in the aftermath of the crash. Fortunately, emergency responders were successful in rescuing the individual.

Deshawn Bradshaw, a local resident, described the moment of impact as a profound disturbance, “I heard a loud boom—It sounded like a bomb,” he recounted. “The whole house shook. It was horrific.”

The aftermath of the car accident led to a complete closure of Sheridan Street from 69th Avenue to 70th Avenue, as police carried out their investigation and the area was cleared.

November 2, 2023: Multi-Car Accident on I-95 in Hollywood

Southbound lanes of I-95 in Hollywood were cleared for traffic following an accident involving eight vehicles.

The incident was reported before 6 AM, along the stretch of highway between Sheridan and Taft streets in Hollywood.
