WHAT IS AN ASSIGNMENT OF BENEFITS?
As the assignment of benefits is a legal document assigning or transferring certain rights from an individual to an individual, and individuals to a corporation or corporation to corporation or corp. to individual. An insurance AOB places the assignee in the shoes of the assignor and places the same rights and responsibilities on the assignee as the original assignor.
CAN YOU FILE A P.I.P. CLAIM WITHOUT AN A.O.B?
No, you will need to trust that the patient will find the competent counsel of their choosing to file a P.I.P. suit against the insurance company litigation successfully, and pay you your bills at the conclusion of the settlement proceeds.
IS THE AOB VALID FOR ONLY AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME?
It is valid in perpetuity. However, If there is a novel issue of law, and your A.O.B does not cover it, you may not be provided the protections.
